There are a lot of extraordinary and stunning chess sets on the earth, they can be a wonderful item to amass or to give as presents. I have seen beautiful pieces in the flea markets of Isreal and Turkey and in the markets of India. They seem to be a global happening. These reasonably priced sets made from wood, marble or other localized fabrics can be lovely conversation pieces or cosmetic elements, even if one does not play chess.

In my past are stories of childhood, an uncle who passed away after I left grammar school, and hours discovering the game and competing with my younger sister. Instead of maturing into chess, I outgrew it, more distractions and less patience as I went toward teenage years. This chess set raises precious memories beyond the well-worn board and well eroded pawns.
